Video: The Letter

I was inspired to make a video, thanks to my lovely friend, Summer (check out her blog here) who has made quite a few of her own already.

This is my first video, so it’s not perfect. But it’s good enough. Something I’m learning to be comfortable with, as I’m an extreme perfectionist.

I’m been really depressed and drained today. So this video is as much for me as it is for you.

I hope it can bring you some comfort today.

  2. OMG. Rip me apart! Although I am no longer suicidal, at least I don’t believe I am, this reminded of the feelings that are and will forever be apart of me. I am so grateful I don’t live in that place today like I did for so long but the feelings, they are only a heartbeat, a single breath away. And now, I sit looking out the window at the incredibly gorgeous blue sky, filled with the impossibly white clouds. I can almost feel feel the cool crisp air as the breeze gently pushes it across my skin causing me to raise my shoulders and shiver. I am happy, grateful to be alive. Still, the emptiness, the loneliness all the memories are but a single teardrop away. Thank you for this, Barney

    1. Hi Barney. Thank you so much for your comment. I enjoyed reading it. 🙂 I’m glad you’re doing better these days. Even though like you said, these feelings will forever be a part of you. But you’re happy to be alive, and that’s all that matters. 🙂

    1. Thank you! I’m so glad you found it enlightening. It’s hard to understand what most people are going through at any given moment. Especially since we’re all so different. We can relate in a lot of ways, but still not entirely. I wanted this video to help others see they’re not all alone and there ARE people who understand more or less what they’re experiencing. Thanks for your comment. 🙂

  3. Not only is your video incredibly beautiful and creative, its deeply moving, and comforting. I have to admit, I’ve been caught in the darkness for over 2 months now. The choice of suicide is a constant thought. Just tonight, I fell over and really hurt my back, which already has an injury from a previous fall. I lose my balance a lot because of the side effects of my medication. I just lay on the floor and cried. I do want to kill myself and for two months I’ve been relying on tomorrow to be a better day. Its an hour since my fall and a desperate desire for death because my future seems to be doomed by emotional and physical pain and I’m alone and I just don’t know how much longer I can do this, and if I can do this. And now here I am watching your beautiful video, and you remind me that tomorrow might be better. You have brought me so much comfort in a time of need, and opened a crack of possibility and hope. Thank you Rayne. You’ve made a difference in my life today. ❤

    1. Your comment brought tears to my eyes, and my heart just broke for you. I’m so sorry that you’re experiencing so much physical and emotional pain. It may not seem like it, but the world needs you. I believe there are people in this world that will benefit from your presence in their lives. I know that I’m one of those people, even though we don’t know one another. I’m glad you’re still here. You’re such a strong person. Having dealt with so much and still being alive makes you a force of nature. Please remember that when you’re at the lowest of lows.

I am so incredibly grateful that this video has helped.

Sending you tons of love and hugs. I’m here if you ever want to talk. xx

  5. I am saddened by your profound losses and thank you for sharing a part of your heart with us.
This is definitely something I’d be interested in starting on my blog – inserting videos. How did you get started, or what would you suggest? I know very little about Vimeo.

    1. You’re very welcome, and thank you.

I just created an account on Vimeo, then used PowerDirector 15 to make the video. It was just the trial version, so it sucks that I won’t be able to use that program again until I can afford to buy it. There are also other programs, such as Windows Movie Maker (but that’s not nearly as good as the paid programmes), which is excellent for beginners. I also have Adobe Premiere Elements, which is a step up from WMM and below PowerDirector. You’ll find your way around the programs, and can then just go with your creativity. I hope this helps. 🙂
